I love the Gruffalo! It's actually one of the first books I blogged about! As far as book companions, I like those that have a variety of activities.

I look for a packet that I can use to target a wide variety of goals as I have multiple kids in my speech/language groups.

I look for versatility when choosing a book companion. Vocabulary, articulation, problem solving - story event, wh questions, pleasing graphics, inferences/predicting, and maybe something special like a game, activity or challenge or a writing opportunity, or additional learning opportunity for an idea (recycling, animal facts, other states/countries,..) that is implied in the book. Thanks for asking!

I always have kiddos working on vocabulary and comprehension so that's what I look for the most. This looks great!
