The
need to address the correct verbal production of 3, 4 and 5 syllable words is
prevalent on our caseload of school aged children. It is because of this high
need to help increase our student’s awareness of syllables in words and their
correct sequence that we decided to develop this treatment packet. Inside this
comprehensive packet you will find a program designed to increase the student’s
awareness of all syllables in words and to help slow down their production
rates. We feel that if the child is slowed down and made more aware of how and
where to produce each syllable in each word, that they will in return repeat the
words more correctly on their own. The program starts with the introduction of
several common syllables heard in the English language. After the student has
practiced the individual syllables, they can in return start working on their
multisyllable words. We have provided a large amount of 3, 4, and 5 syllable
word therapy cards, worksheets, and games to help keep the student engaged in
multisyllable word production training until the end.
