Hello! We haven't posted a top ten list in a while so that got me thinking about things that I share in therapy with clients and I decided that I would put together a top ten list about the tips that I share with my adult and pediatric clients that are related to helping to increase their speaking intelligibility.
Here are two FREEBIES that I want to share with anyone who is interested in learning about some of the common tips that we speech therapists provide to our clients who are having a difficult time expressing themselves verbally. People are encouraged to follow each of the tips to help to increase speaking intelligibility and accuracy. The sheets could be posted in a therapy room or in a clients speech therapy homework binder, or their home environment for a friendly reminder of what to try to do before speaking.
The first jpeg is a top ten tip list and I think that it would be better for use with older children and adults, and the second jpeg is a shorter 6 item list with pictures to be used with younger children. Please right click on the pictures to save the images to your computer and then print them off for your own use whenever you want. I hope you find them helpful!
I hope that you all have a wonderful Labor Day tomorrow. I'm off to the MN State Fair tomorrow with my family and I'm looking forward to one last fun "free" day before we are all getting up super early again for the school day! Thank you for stopping by the blog today and take care.
Sincerely, Manda, M.A.-CCC-SLP

Great list-especially with the swallowing-it's so hard to understand them with a mouthful of spit.
